URGENT WARNING - NOT A CIRCULAR

We live on Longdown Lane North and were broken into at 12.45pm on Friday 22nd October. We were one of four properties broken into that afternoon within a short period of time - two were on Longdown Lane North. Fortunately, our alarm and a good neighbour responding to the alarm, was an effective deterrent and despite serious damage to our front door and back windows, the thieves had no time to take anything. Although our house is openly exposed to the road, they still attempted entry through the front door.

Earlier this year in July, another two properties were broken into on Longdown Lane North, again during the afternoon. The police informed me that Epsom has been targeted recently, particularly in the "more affluent residential areas".

We are a neighbourhood watch area, but as a resident and victim, I wanted to warn everyone to look out for any suspicious vehicles or people in the area and not to become complacement with your security. Despite my vigilence in securing our property, they did enormous damage and it could have been much worse.

DOUBLE LOCK UP AND USE YOUR ALARMS IF YOU HAVE ONE AND IF YOU HEAR SOMEONE'S ALARM GOING OFF - DON'T IGNORE IT. WE MUST MAKE IT AS DIFFICULT AS WE CAN FOR THESE THIEVES.
